DBVC CLG Board of Directors

The DBVC CLG Board of Directors are drawn from a broad range of backgrounds. Directors are appointed for a term of three years at the end of which they may seek re-election at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). All members may serve a maximum of two three-year terms.
The Board’s Corporate Governance and Strategic Planning Sub-Group reviews applications for Board membership and submits its recommendations to the Board for approval. Approved applicants are put
forward for election by the members at the AGM. On appointment, all new Board members have an introductory session with the Chairperson followed by an induction with the Chief Executive. They receive an overview of the organisation as a whole and the various activities and services provided
by it. They are briefed on their legal obligations under charity and company law and are provided with a copy of the company’s constitution. In addition, the role and responsibilities of a director are
explained in detail. Directors are also encouraged to attend appropriate external training events where these will assist the undertaking of their role. Board members were Garda vetted where required.
